Jamie Broder

Jamie Broder is a partner in the Litigation practice at Paul Hastings. She has extensive experience in all phases of litigation, including state and federal court trial practice and appellate advocacy. Ms. Broder concentrates her practice in complex litigation, professional liability, securities litigation, health care litigation, intellectual property litigation and general business disputes, as well as in alternative dispute resolution.

Ms. Broder has represented entertainment and media companies including record companies, music publishing companies, television networks and a large news organization in a variety of litigation matters including copyright infringement actions. She has also represented financial services companies, investment management firms, law firms, real estate developers and hospital companies.

Since late 2008, Ms. Broder has served as Pro Bono Partner for the Firm. In that role, she has helped to expand the Firm's pro bono program. She has also successfully handled numerous pro bono cases including an immigration detention center class action, the representation of the adoptive parents of a special needs child for whom she obtained substantial benefits, and the filing of an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in a First Amendment case.

Ms. Broder has been selected as one of the top Women Litigators in California in 2007, 2008, and 2009 by the Los Angeles Daily Journal. Ms. Broder has also been named as a Southern California Super Lawyer in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 by Law & Politics and Los Angeles magazines.

Ms. Broder is a member of the Board of Public Counsel and is a member of the Board's Executive Committee. She is also Co-Chair of the Public Counsel Volunteers Committee and a member of the William O. Douglas Dinner Committee. Ms. Broder was a member of the Board of the Los Angeles County Bar Foundation from 2004 through 2009. Ms. Broder has served on several ABA committees. She has served as a Judge Pro Tem in the Los Angeles and Santa Monica courts.

Jamie Broder received her B.A. degree (magna cum laude) from Brandeis University in 1972, and her J.D. degree (cum laude) from the New York University School of Law in 1975.
