Joanna Gaughan
Prior to joining KIND, Joanna worked in the Immigration Unit of the Staff Attorney's Office at the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, where she analyzed petitions for review involving asylum and other forms of immigration relief. During law school, Joanna interned at the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project; the Asylum Program of Arizona; the Tucson Immigration Court; and the Pima County Public Defender. Prior to law school, Joanna was a public school teacher in Brooklyn, New York for three years. She has also taught in Costa Rica, Ghana, and Thailand. Joanna received her J.D. from the University of Arizona Rogers College of Law, her M.A. in Education from Cambridge College, and her B.S. from Cornell University.
