Alice Sullivan Fitzgerald

After graduating from George Washington University Law School in 1986, where she had worked extensively in public interest and clinical programs, Ms. Fitzgerald was hired as a Clinical Instructor of Law at GWU where she co-taught in the Administrative Advocacy Clinic. In 1990, Ms. Fitzgerald took over the program and soon after was promoted to Clinical Professor of Law. In addition, Professor Fitzgerald supervised and managed the law school's extensive Outside Placement internship program. Professor Fitzgerald was instrumental in bringing this program into compliance with ABA law school accreditation policies, and under her leadership the ABA recognized the program as one of the finest in the country. Professor Fitzgerald retired from the law school in 2000 and worked on a variety of volunteer projects, including fundraising for several non-profit organizations. In 2010, she re entered the public interest sector by volunteering with KIND and was hired as the National Attorney Coordinator for Pro Bono Recruitment. Her primary responsibility is to increase the number of pro bono attorneys who work on KIND cases. Ms. Fitzgerald received her BA from Boston College and is proficient in Spanish.
