Having recently passed the first anniversary of KIND's founding - October 17 - I am proud to report that KIND has achieved numerous milestones in its one year of operations.
We now have a talented and dedicated national staff of 15, have partnered with 60 law firms, and have reached more than 550 children and trained nearly 900 lawyers. The dedication and enthusiasm of the pro bono attorneys we work with never ceases to inspire and impress me. We have won important and in some cases groundbreaking victories in a number of children's cases around the country. We are honored to have an extremely accomplished new Board of Directors. We're making inroads in advocacy on policies that affect unaccompanied children.
You'll read in this newsletter about our new Board of Directors, the incredible work of our remarkable law firm partners, our first-ever staff retreat, and our participation in this year's Clinton Global Initiative.
We thank you for helping create a movement for unaccompanied children in the United States. With all that we've accomplished in our first year together, I have no doubt that year two will be even more of a success for KIND, its partners, and for the children we are working so hard to help.
