During this holiday season it is very likely that you are being called upon by many nonprofits to make charitable contributions. KIND is no different and we hope you'll make a generous contribution today by clicking here. Like all 501(c)(3) organizations, KIND depends on charitable support from those who know the value of our work. As you prioritize your charitable giving, here are some things KIND would like you to consider about how we leverage your contributions to maximize their impact:
- Our operating model is driven by volunteers and a small staff so we are better able to leverage financial contributions to have a greater impact.
- Since 2009, KIND has leveraged a modest annual operating of budget of approximately $3 million to provide unaccompanied children with pro bono legal services valued at $19 million.
- KIND leverages in-kind contributions, such as donated office space, to keep operating costs low.
KIND has made a difference in the life of dozens of unaccompanied children. More than one child has been quoted as saying "KIND saved my life." Here's how your gift can help more children:
- A gift of $25 can provide a legal intake and Know Your Rights presentation for an unaccompanied child.
- A gift of $100 can enable KIND to conduct community outreach to trafficking victims.
- A gift of $500 can underwrite recruitment and training of 20 new pro bono attorneys.
