The compelling cases of Alex and Carlos, unaccompanied Mexican indigenous child brothers prominently featured in KIND's video (available at supportKIND.org) quickly captured the hearts of many.
"Abandoned by their family and placed into state foster care, Alex and Carlos officially became legal permanent residents on December 17th through the Special Immigrant Juvenile Status program. Needless to say we are all thrilled, but more than that, relieved that the threat of deportation to an unknown fate is no longer looming over them," reports pro bonoattorney Mariam Ahmedani, Equal Justice Works Fellow/Staff Attorney.
