Laurie Carafone

Laurie Carafone has worked as an attorney in the field of humanitarian immigration law since 2009, primarily representing asylum clients seeking safe haven from persecution in their home countries. Previously she worked as a litigator at a law firm in Boston. Laurie earned her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was chosen as a Ford Outstanding Woman Law Scholar and a Bergstrom Child Welfare Fellow.

In 2010, Laurie was selected by Boston Magazine as the Rising Star in the Non-Profit sector, and in 2009 she received the Women of Justice award from the Women’s Bar Association. In 2008, she was selected as a fellow in the Boston Bar Association Public Interest Leadership Program. Laurie earned her B.A. in literature, cum laude, from Dartmouth College and a masters degree from Harvard Divinity School.
